Cannondale's offering for the endurance road bike sector is the multi-award winning Synapse. The Cannondale Synapse has won "road bike of the year" from various publications multiple times, so you know whichever model you decide on, you are riding a bike that is actually certified as great! The Cannondale Synapse has been available as an alloy framed bike or a more premium carbon framed road bike for a number of years, and still continues to be, but the carbon versions now also have additional choices. These bikes now have an option to come equipped with a Garmin Varia radar, front and rear lights, electronic shifting, or a combination, all powered from a central battery called "SmartSense". This makes riding on the roads much safer, allowing you to see and be seen, as well as alerting you to the presence of vehicles approaching and making other road users aware of your presence by adjusting the beam pattern on the rear light for maximum visibility. The Cannondale Synapse is also compatible with mudguards making them great high-speed commuter bikes or Winter bikes.
