The All New Whyte Kado
The latest ebike out of Whyte’s workshop is the brand new Kado eMTB, a full suspension ebike aimed at redefining your trail and enduro bike experience. Power is provided by the latest Bosch eBike motor, the 5th generation Performance Line CX, which delivers power and efficiency like no other system. The frame comes in a high-performance full carbon variant, a wallet friendly alloy option, or the best-of-both hybrid alloy and carbon version, giving plenty of choice to match a range of budgets. All of these options provide exceptional durability and feature the low centre of gravity that is at the heart of the Kado’s design.
All Kado models can take a Bosch eBike battery of up to 800Wh and the M – XL size models can be used with the Bosch Powermore 250 Wh range extender, granting more freedom for those longer days in the hills.

The Latest In E Bike Technology
Bosch electric bike systems have long been considered some of the best out there, with the Bosch Gen 4 motor being praised for being lightweight and providing a natural ride feel, as well as being reliable and low maintenance. The new Whyte Kado incorporates the latest Gen 5 Bosch Performance Line CX system which improves on the already excellent Gen 4, by providing a quieter ride that is even lighter and smoother than before. This system feeds the Kado with 600W of peak power and up to 85Nm of torque, cleverly delivered with the use of more advanced sensors that ensure a more natural feel to pedalling with the assistance. The system can be tailored to the rider’s preferences via the Bosch eBike Flow app, which can also be used to load software updates onto the bike.
Removable Battery
The Whyte Kado is designed to allow the Bosch eBike battery to be removed with ease, to be charged or stored off the bike. The battery can be slid from the bottom of the downtube by simply removing a cover, connector and a captive bolt, and this design also means that the frame doesn’t need to have a hole cut into it, allowing the strength to be kept up and the weight to be kept down.

Kado Features And Components
The Kado is intended to be an E mountain bike that is capable of tackling the hardest of trails you can throw at it, and is full of features that allow you to achieve that goal. It is a capable 160mm/150mm travel platform, that comes from custom tuned suspension from Fox and RockShox, giving it a balance between soaking up big hits and remaining playful and responsive.
Short 155mm cranks are equipped on the Kado RS and RSX models, with 160mm coming on the S models, allowing for greater ground clearance without raising the centre of gravity.
Braking on this Whyte eBike comes from four piston hydraulic disc brakes, with large rotors giving riders powerful braking, allowing for greater control. Further enhancing this control are the 800mm bars fitted to all models, that can of course be cut down if riders find these too wide.
Frame size specific, full-drop dropper posts are fitted to all models, making it possible to get the saddle right out of the way on the steeper descents.

Total Geometry Concept
As with all Whyte E bike models, the Kado is built around their “Total Geometry” concept, which enhances performance by placing the rider in a more centred riding position. A long wheelbase, short chainstays, steep seat tube angle, and a slack head angle come together to create a ride that is balanced and stable at speed, but playful and reactive in the corners.
Whyte have known the importance that the centre of gravity (CoG) plays in the handling of a bike for a long time, particularly with an eBike, as the overall weight is usually higher than that of a non-electrically assisted bike. In general, a lower CoG improves stability, can aid cornering, and can improve ride confidence, especially on steeper descents. Whyte’s focus on lowering the centre of gravity in their E mountain bike range began in 2019, with their E-150 being the first eMTB on the market to feature a rotated motor to allow for the motor and battery to sit as low as possible in the frame.
The latest Whyte eBike continues this philosophy, with the Kado RSX equipped with an 800Wh battery having a CoG that sits 12.54mm lower than the outgoing E-160 RX with a 750Wh battery.
