Anyone familiar with the Surly brand knows that they have garnered a reputation for making bikes that don’t adhere to the norm and happily buck trends in order to create something unique. Over the years, this approach is what has got Surly customers coming back to them, creating a loyal army of customers that appreciate Surly’s down-to-earth, practical approach to creating bikes.

Above is the collection of Surly Bridge Club bikes. No Surly bike neatly fits into a specific category, and the Surly Bridge club is no different, being aimed at touring, but equally happy being used as a commuter bike, a gravel bike, and it can even turn its hand to being a trail bike when the need arises.

Whilst the Surly Bridge Club is equipped with fewer barnacles than some of the other Surly bikes, the ones that remain are the most important, the most frequently used. There are plenty of mounts for bottles, bags, racks, and tools, and the tyre clearance allows up to 700x47mm tyres, even with mudguards, making it a really plush ride.

The Surly Bridge Club has dropped some of the versatility around the rear axle in order to make things simpler, so this frame is only designed to use a disc brake setup with a vertical dropout. However, there are still a range of wheel options from 700c road and gravel wheels, to 26” and 27.5” mountain bike rims that will work perfectly with the steel road bike frame.
