Starting Mountain Biking During Coronavirus

Although Coronavirus is one of the most devastating health pandemics the world has ever seen, it’s had a few strange consequences.

There is less traffic on the road than ever before, pollution levels are down - and people working from home, or have been furloughed - have more spare time than usual to spend time with family. It’s a time when people can rediscover hobbies and spend time concentrating on themselves. 

At Westbrook, we have seen a massive increase in the sales of bikes - and for good reason. Now is one of the best times to rediscover cycling - in either mountain biking or road biking form. Mountain biking, and cycling in general has always been encouraged during the lockdown as a permitted form of exercise - and getting out on a mountain bike is one of the best ways to look after your physical and mental health during lockdown and social distancing. 

We have a massive array of mountain bikes for sale which are absolutely perfect for people looking to take up mountain biking and get fit, during lockdown. The bikes that we supply are at a slightly higher price point than some of the most entry level bikes available - but this is for good reason. We only stock and supply bikes from brands which we know and trust to design and manufacture bikes which perform as they should in the field, we never supply bikes which provide a poor performance or a sub-standard quality. 

For this reason, we only really ever recommend a hardtail mountain bike for beginner budgets - simply because it’s impossible to manufacture a full suspension mountain bike on the cheap if it is to provide any sort of level of performance.
