Maxxis

Maxxis are amongst one of the most instantly recognisable bike tyre brands on the market, with distinctive branding and even more distinctive tread patterns. These tyres are not surprisingly a favourite amongst not only amongst our customers, but also plenty of our staff in both our office and shop.

Maxxis have placed massive importance on their cycle tyre range, which sits alongside tyres they manufacture for vehicles and motorsport - and Maxxis have developed tyres suited perfectly to both mountain biking disciplines and road cycling, ensuring that riders with Maxxis tyres fitted to their bike enjoy the maximum performance and ability from their tyres.

Not surprisingly, as a specialist tyre manufacture - Maxxis really know their stuff, and as well as some incredibly well optimised tread patterns, Maxxis have also invested massively in technology which keeps the bike tyres going, no matter how difficult the terrain. Protecting the tyre from punctures and tears and rips in the sidewall is of key importance here, with specialist compounds and casings being used across the range to provide the toughest, most reliable tyre.

There are too many examples of technology which has gone into Maxxis Bike Tyres, but to mention a few of our personal favourites:

Double Down - Featured in Enduro Tyres, a Butyl insert sits within the two ply casing above the bead, providing extra stiffness as well as weight savings.

Silkworm - A breaker layer which is underneath the tread, provides increased protection against tears and punctures in the tyre.

SilkShield - Another puncture and tear resistant layer which is woven into the casing of the tyre, running from bead to bead.

Ebike - Maxxis eBike tyres have been designed to meet European ECE-R75 standards, which means that these tyres can cope with heavier loads and faster speeds of an electric bike.

You can view our full range of Maxxis Tyres above, and if you have any questions about the range - please do get in touch. All of our team members have extensive experience in choosing the right tyre for your bike, so whether you are after a high speed tyre for your road bike, or a MTB tyre for downhill trails and fire roads - we can point you in the right direction.
