At Westbrook Cycles, we stock and supply an excellent range of Mountain Bike Shoes - which have been specifically designed to be tough enough to handle the demands and rigours that come with off road riding. It’s worth noting that whilst the sole of the MTB shoe is stiff enough to cope with pedalling, the rest of the shoe is much softer than a road bike shoe.

Mountain Bike Shoes can either be for flats, or have cleats in to clip into your MTB pedals. The choice between the two is largely down to personal preference, with both types of shoes having advantages and disadvantages. Flat Pedal MTB shoes are have a grippy rubber compound which helps the shoe stay connected with the pedal, whatever the terrain and whatever the weather. These shoes are ideal for mountain bikers who spend time with their foot down riding, so are popular choices for those riding downhill trails and tracks. SPD Compatible MTB Shoes are another option for mountain bikers. SPD shoes allow the rider to be clipped into the pedals, whilst also being able to easily remove the feet from the pedals.
