For female riders, we’ve now patterned a pared-down windproof shell jacket for essential protection and brought it firmly into the ASSOS stable at a very fair price point. Now a key piece for our in-house test team, we’ve employed our race-tuned Foil Ultra textile on the front, while the sides panels have been reworked to incorporate the high stretch and breathability of our proprietary Glossy textile. The dual-layer collar construction and raglan sleeves improve elasticity and comfort while riding. Those same cyclists who never leave without a windproof shell also value packability, which demands a product that can easily be stowed in your pocket while riding. The UMA GT wind jacket meets those demands. Cut in our revised women’s Long Distance design, this is a comfort-focused, easy-to-throw-on piece for essential protection, minimal volume and maximum performance. FEATURED FABRICS
The front and upper back panels are made up of our 3L wind- and waterproof SPHERE Light textile, with a second layer of fleecy OSMOS Light as the lining. The lower back panel is made using our OSMOS Heavy, the most insulating of our brushed-back materials, while the sleeves lean on a warp-knit 3L ZigZaggy Foam that wraps you in plush, wind-blocking insulation.
CONSTRUCTION/FIT
On the front and upper back panels, our double-layer twinDeck fabric construction locks out the cold and creates a pocket of insulating air between the layers, while still remaining exceptionally breathable. To ensure you don’t overheat, we added our Diffusor “valves” at the shoulders, which act like a set of air vents that draw in air from the outside and inject it between the jacket’s layers of fabric. As a race-ready garment, it’s stripped to its essence with an aerodynamic raceFit that seamlessly integrates with other layers.
