Cannondale SuperSix Evo Lab71 EF Replica Review
Regarding top-tier road bikes, few can rival the precision and design of the Cannondale SuperSix Evo Lab71 EF Replica. Until now, the Supersix Evo range was in its most advanced guise in the Hi-Mod specification. However, that’s been outdone by the Lab71 - a bike ridden hard in the 2024 Tour de France and a bike which was until recently, in scarce supply.
In this post, we look at the bike in greater detail - looking at how the bike performs (obviously brilliantly), what the bike would be like to live with, and the value that the bike represents.
SuperSix Evo Lab71 Features
Cannondale's Lab71 branding represents the cutting edge of its bike technology—Lab 71 is a step beyond the previous "Hi-Mod" models that Cannondale produces. The Lab 71 features Cannondale's own Series 0 carbon layup, making this frameset 70g lighter than its predecessor, all whilst making improvements on stiffness or ride quality.
Aerodynamics have also been carefully revised, providing an enhanced performance. Cannondale's own testing has shown a saving of up to 12 watts at 28mph compared to older models. The bike also has a slimmed-down headtube and seatpost, which shows the intent of this bike.
The EF Replica version of the bike comes with a Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 R9200 drivetrain, although Cannondale swaps out the crank for an FSA K-Force carbon crankset equipped with Powerbox’s Team Edition power meter. The bike also comes fitted with Vision Metron 60 SL carbon wheels wrapped in 28mm Vittoria Corsa Pro TLR tyres, giving the package dependable grip and speed on race-primed roads.
The one-piece SystemBar R-One carbon handlebar, designed with Momo, adds a clean, integrated cockpit while keeping aero efficiency in mind. Topped off with a Prologo Dimension NACK NDR saddle, the details and components look the part, and provide spades of performance
The SuperSix Evo is stiff where it counts and remains compliant when you need it to be - despite the race pedigree of this machine, the bike builds the rider's confidence so does suit riders of different abilities. Whether you’re powering up steep climbs or descending at hair-raising speeds, this bike handles with a sure-footedness that’s rare, even among premium race bikes.
Cannondale delivers an aggressive and user-friendly geometry for the discerning racer. The slightly relaxed stack and reach compared to competitors like the Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL8 mean less strain over long rides, while still maintaining razor-sharp responsiveness when the going gets tough.
At just 740g for the frameset, the SuperSix Evo Lab71 is one of the lightest on the market. The streamlined design doesn’t just look fast—it translates into real-world speed, saving precious watts for race-day efforts or Sunday thrashes.
First Ride Impressions
The Cannondale SuperSix Evo Lab71 EF Replica has been designed to perform in true World Tour fashion. At Westbrook Cycles, we have been lucky enough to take the Lab71 out on the fine roads of North Yorkshire, and we had a blast on it.
One of the most noticeable performance indicators of this bike is just how sharp the steering is - the high levels of control you feel when on the bike allows you to push harder than ever before, and the slightly slacker geometry of the front end allows you to keep composed and confident on the bike on tricky and fast descents, without impacting on flatline acceleration and pace.
Regarding acceleration, the frame's stiffness translates to fantastic power transfer from the FSA crankset - the bike responds well, whether you are accelerating or pedalling in and out of the saddle. Acceleration is backed up with great aerodynamic performance - the 60mm vision wheelset really makes it feel like the wind is on your side, and these wheels held their line brilliantly in the crosswinds of the high North Yorkshire moors.
For all of it’s performance geometry and characteristics, the bike remains comfortable to ride - the bladed seatpost reduces the vibrations from the road, and we did not get tired of riding the bike, it’s not quite an all day endurance style road bike, but it’s remarkably comfortable for what the bike is.

If you are after a bike that provides professional performance, this bike is for you. The bike is cutting edge, and it’s a bike which shines on the world stage.
It’s not without a couple of niggles, particularly when it comes to fit customisation out of the box. However, these pale compared to the performance gains and sheer enjoyment this bike offers.
