100% Aircraft 2 Helmet Review
The Aircraft 2 from 100% is one of the most impressive and futuristic mountain bike helmets on the market, as well as looking fantastic - this helmet is also packed with innovative technologies and features which make it well worth upgrading to, even if you own the predecessor.
100% Aircraft 2 Safety
Much in the same way that the Trajecta and Altec do - the new aircraft 2 uses the brands own smartshock technology, which essentially is it’s own version of MIPS. This technology uses multiple elastomers that sit between the riders head and the helmet - these elastomers can compress to absorb big impacts, and can also move independently - helping minimise the shock from the crash.
A patent-pending injection-moulded chin bar and multi-density EPS foam provide additional protection and safety.
The exterior of the helmet is constructed from an aerospace-level Kevlar and carbon shell that has been extensively tested and designed to protect your head in almost every crash scenario.
100% Aircraft 2 Ventilation
The Aircraft 2 has a massive number of intake vents, keeping the head cool - the chin bar even has four vents across it. The ventilation can really be felt on the front of the head, and we’ve worn this helmet across some very warm days - and there’s a stack of fresh air entering this helmet.
100% Aircraft 2 Visor
The Visor is a really fantastic feature of the Aircraft 2 - it’s not the longest visor available on helmets in this class, but it does provide a really broad position - which does a great job of blocking out the sun, even when the sun is sitting low in the sky. The visor has multiple points of adjustment, and can also be shifted up high enough to seat a pair of goggles when not in use.
100% Aircraft 2 Online
As you would expect at this price point, the Aircraft 2 is a fantastic helmet - it sits amongst other options available at this price point, but a couple of aspects really make it stand out as one of the best downhill mountain bike helmets on the market, its styling first and foremost - with it’s distinctive look, but also it’s ventilation, which makes this helmet perfect for longer days on the saddle.
