Often overlooked as a bike modification, handlebar grips are some of the most important components of any bike - be it a road bike, mountain bike or BMX. The reason that bike grips are so important, is because they are one of the largest and most important contact points that we have with our bikes. 

Ignoring the importance of handlebar grips, can lead to poorly fitted, uncomfortable grips which affect braking, riding discipline, riding comfort - and can even lead to pain in the hands. As with everything biking, there are literally thousands of different handlebar grips to choose from, with often the only way to find the best fit for you - is to choose and use a few different types. 

Although colour is one of the most important factors in many cyclists minds, there are also a few key differences between handlebar grips which can make all of the difference. Amongst the most popular grips on sale, are plain gauge grips - which are the same thickness, right along the handlebar. All handlebar grips are also available in a range of different thicknesses, again - there is no right level of thickness, and personal preference is the key here. Dual compound grips are also a very popular option with many customers. These grips feature two different types of rubber, a  harder layer which is covered by a softer layer -= providing a secure hold on the handlebars, without sacrificing comfort and padding for the hands.
