An appropriate pair of tyres can make all the difference in the world to your bike; whether you're after performance road tyres to mitigate rolling resistance, rugged mountain bike tyres to boost traction & comfort on tough trails; or winter tyres to grip to the road and prevent sliding.

At Westbrook Cycles, we are proud to supply a fantastic range of bike tyres - our range includes the very best type of rubber for all types of bikes, riding across all types of conditions. Supplying tyres individually for those replacing the existing tyres on their bike - there’s an awful lot to think about when choosing the next set of tyres for your requirements. It’s well worth getting the tyre choice right too, the right tyres can unlock the performance of your bike, allowing you to perform and ride at your best, however you ride.

On this page, you can find our full range of bike tyres - and in the below content, we look at each type of tyre available, alongside some of that tyre's features and benefits.

Mountain Bike Tyres are some of the most popular tyres that we supply - and mountain bike tyres are put through some of the most demanding conditions on any style of bike. Although specialist tyres exist for different conditions, all mountain bike tyres must provide the right balance of grip and traction on all surfaces, whilst still providing a mix between grip, speed and handling. Gravel Tyres perform the same, combining off road and on road grip. Choosing the right tyres for your exact mountain biking needs, usually involves some compromise. For example, a winter and mud bias mountain bike tyre with fantastic levels of grip thanks to an aggressive tread pattern may be ideal for winter riding, it’s unlikely to tick all of the boxes if you are riding a mixture of on road and off road during the warmer, dryer months. In the same vain, a racing mountain bike tyre will likely not be able to put up with really slippery conditions, and will wear down quickly compared to a more all round mountain bike tyre.

Once you have chosen the tyre style you need, it’s then a case of matching the tyre to the specifications and sizes of your bike.

Another very popular type of tyre that we supply to our customers, is road bike tyres. Again, there are plenty of variations in the number of tyres that are available for cyclists - and these need to be chosen according to the type of riding that you carry out. A specialist racing tyre for example, will quickly scrub off on the daily commute - and an all round tyre will not be specialist enough for those racing. For most road bikers, the middle ground of road tyres represent the right balance of performance and durability. Again, it’s vital that customers choose the right tyres for their bikes and rims. One of the biggest differences in tyre sizing and type for road tyres, is between the two main types of tyres - tubular tyres and clincher tyres.

Other tyre types that we supply include BMX tyres designed to take maximum abuse, and cyclocross tyres that provide the perfect balance between grip and speed.

You can view all of our bike tyres available above, and if you have any questions about this difficult to navigate area of cycling - please do just get in touch and we will be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have. Brands within the range include Michelin, Schwalbe and Maxxis.
