WINTER RIDING WITH CASTELLI AW19
Even when they start out nice, winter days can quickly turn nasty, making clothing choice very important when planning a ride. The Autumn/Winter collection from Castelli has a wide range of water-repellent jerseys, insulated tights and cold-weather jackets so you don’t have to worry about keeping warm and dry. To keep covered from head-to-toe you can add long-fingered gloves, shoe-covers, merino socks and a Head Thingy.
To create the Perfetto RoS Convertible Jacket, Castelli started again from scratch to create a jacket with removable sleeves which is better than any other. With the sleeves on, it’s the Perfetto RoS jacket, remove the sleeves and you’re left with the Gabba. Catelli have given the Perfetto the Rain or Shine treatment for this season. It has the same excellent fit and breathability as before, with dramatically improved water-repellency and sealed seams on the shoulders. To keep you comfortable the rear-facing fabrics of the garment are warmer on the forward-facing sections and lighter on the rear-facing panels.
Castelli gave the pros the original Gabba back in 2010 and it changed everything; they didn’t just use it for wet races, they used it in cold races and even in training. Updated here and there along the way, the Gabba has gone from strength-to-strength until now, when Castelli have started with a clean slate for the all-new Gabba RoS Jersey. Seam-sealed shoulders keep out the rain and combined with the new exclusive GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabric, give a near-waterproof quality. Based on feedback from Team Ineos, the number of pockets has been dropped to two, to make access while wearing gloves easier.
Tutto Nano. It just happens to be good in the rain too. This range of bib shorts, knickers and tights is great in every possible condition. Using Castelli’s new Nano Flex 3G material which is exceptionally soft and warm while offering the best yet rain protection has helped to created a proper all-round garment.
