Cannondale Supersix Evo Carbon Disc 105 Review

At Westbrook Cycles, we are massive fans of the Cannondale Supersix Evo Carbon Disc 105. This bike is an award winning machine, racking up a number of industry awards. The bike's history runs back to 2011, with the Supersix Evo being based on the Liquigas Pro racing bike. This bike was then redesigned from the ground up, with carbon fibre frames and components - with the result being one of the lightest, and most comfortable road bikes on the market.

In 2015, the second generation of this bike arrived - with a raft of further improvements and last year, in 2020 - the model was updated again. There are so many innovative features of this bike, it’s hard to get them all on paper.

One of the most innovative parts of the design of the bike is the Kammtail Tubes on the frame, the tubes are the most aerodynamically advanced on any road bike - with a truncated airfoil - which resembles an aircraft wing to reduce drag. This is why the frame does not look like most Cannondales do, with a traditional diamond shape at it’s centre. These changes have resulted in 30% less drag compared to previous models, and the use of the world’s most advanced carbon fibre sees the frame weigh under 1kg and the fork weight under 440g.

It’s an exceptionally comfortable bike as well - it’s smooth and it handles rough roads as well as smooth roads really well.

At under £3,000 - this bike represents excellent value. It’s light, smooth and ultra fast. You can view the bike, and it’s full specification, here
