Another thing the Surly Midnight Special also shares with its siblings is that it doesn’t really fit into any one category fully. If you put road bike tyres on it, it can be a great endurance road bike, but it also has the clearance to put a set of gravel bike tyres on it, and then it becomes a comfortable gravel bike. The rack and mudguard mounts also make it a great commuter bike, so it can be reborn into whatever you need it to be.
