The £5,000 price point for road bikes gets a rider into a pretty exclusive club, at this price point - you are looking at bikes which are more than capable of riding and competing on the world stage. At this price point, we usually find these bikes are going to high level recreational riders who are looking for the advantage on every ride. Alternatively, these bikes are purchased by riders who compete on their road bike, and are looking for a race winning advantage, and that’s exactly what these bikes provide.
Spend this much on a road bike and you can expect trickle down technology from the very best models in the lineup, so it’s not uncommon for these bikes to look just like their £10,000 models. These bikes will almost certainly have a carbon fibre frame and a carbon fibre fork - and these bikes will also usually have carbon fibre wheels.
