High Modulus
Carbon Fibre Bikes
Low Modulus Carbon Fibre is the easiest and most common of carbon fibres to produce - and it’s the carbon fibre type which is found on many entry-level carbon road bikes and mountain bikes. These fibres are less stiff but are strong when cured, whereas High modulus carbon fibres are much stiffer, from the outset.
However, a frame made entirely of high-modulus carbon fibre would snap, so a mixture of materials is needed where they are most needed. On the high-end bikes featured on this page, there will typically be up to ten different carbon fibre types, used and optimised across the frame. The aim here is for bike brands to meet all of their strength and stiffness targets.
On the above bikes, which use high-modulus carbon fibre, riders can expect unparalleled stiffness, resulting in superior power transfer and efficiency. Riders can also expect lightweight designs that shed grams without sacrificing durability. High modulus carbon fibre also means that brands can create more weird and wonderful features on the bike, making a bike more focussed - whether that’s for shredding downhill trails on a full suspension mountain bike, or being one of the world’s most efficient road bikes for climbing.
All of the bikes on this page have been sourced from the world’s leading bike brands, with whom we work closely. If you are ready to take your cycling or mountain biking to the next level with one of these machines, get in touch, and we will be happy to provide any further information you may need.
