The Athena shift/brake levers follow this design and are the most affordable and svelte of the 11 speed options. The shift functionality is of course top notch, but what is most noticeable about the new design is the ergonomics. The multi-density vari-cushion hoods are left and right specific for incredible comfort where most riders spend the majority of their riding time. The levers have two bulges for easy grip on the hoods or in the drops. The levers are also carbon with an aluminum core so they are friendly on the hands even when the weather gets colder, but have the durability of aluminum. Plus, the look cool. Low friction polymers are used on the shift mechanisms for ease of shifting and steady precision over time.
