Our e-bike-specific wheelset uses DT Swiss´s Hybrid hub, which uses reinforced bearings and a steel freehub body to offer maximum reliability. Adding thicker spokes and our extremely resilient MC32 rims means that this wheelset is more than a match for the most extreme e-adventures.
TECHNOLOGIES
- FRONT AND REAR SPECIFIC Each wheel has a different job to do and experiences different forces. OQUO wheels use front and rear specific designs, that means considering rim profiles, spokes and build specifications carefully to maximise performance. It is more work but the benifits are clear.
- PINCH PROTECTION On tubeless wheels, punctures happen when the tire is pinched between an external object and the edge of the rim. Increasing the width of the rim profile in these points greatly reduces the likelihood of these punctures.
- ASYMMETRIC RIMS Asymmetric rims, sometimes called offset rims, improve rigidity, strength, and reliability by reducing the difference in spoke tensions on different sides of the wheel. How does this work?
- ANGLED SPOKE HOLES Matching the angle of the spoke hole to the angle that the spoke leaves the rim at results in greatly reduced stress at the spoke head. Implementing this technology requires added design and manufacturing work but the result is a far more reliable wheel with less chance of breaking spokes.
- J-BEND SPOKES In reliability testing j-bend spokes show a significant increase in fatigue resistance, meaning a wheel which stays true and strong for longer.
- REINFORCED SPOKE BEDS There is more stress on a rim where the spokes exert tension. Reinforcing these areas increases the reliability of the rim without adding excessive weight.
- SECURE NIPPLE LOCK The secure nipple lock ensures that your spokes stay tensioned for longer, meaning your wheel stays stronger for longer.
