Scott Voltage - See The Light

The Scott Voltage has always stood out for its versatility and performance on challenging terrains. It was originally designed for the freeride and downhill enthusiast, and embodied a blend of agility, durability, and adjustability, making them suitable for a wide range of mountain biking disciplines.

The Voltage full suspension MTB models were known for their playful handling, particularly appreciated on steep descents and tight corners. A robust suspension setup that excelled in handling big hits, ensured riders could tackle both fast, rough terrain and large jumps and drops confidently.

Its focus was always on downhill and freeride performance, and thanks to its forgiving nature and confidence-inspiring stability it was able to tackle terrain and features other mountain bikes would struggle with. The bike's design effectively balanced the need for a bike that could perform well at bike parks and on natural trails, offering a blend of fun, performance, and progression for riders looking to push their limits.

The Voltage has been away for a while, but now it has returned. So, what has changed? Everything.

The New Scott Voltage eRide

The new Scott Voltage eRide transforms trail biking with ingenious enhancement. This model is crafted for avid MTB enthusiasts desiring a bike that's not only agile and featherlight but also boasts formidable capabilities on the trail, now augmented with a discreet, whisper-quiet motor. The latest incarnation of the Voltage eRide sets a new benchmark, offering an unparalleled riding experience on every trail, repeatedly.

Equipped with a motor that provides up to 50Nm of torque and a battery capacity peaking at 520Wh, this E-MTB combines a lightweight build with formidable power, ensuring an effortless ride with no resistance when the motor is inactive.

This full suspension mountain e-bike features 155mm of rear travel, a Fox Float X Nude shock, meticulously crafted geometry, and adjustable head angles for a ride that's as smooth as it is responsive.

The design of the Voltage eRide emphasizes sleek aesthetics, incorporating smart internal cable routing to maximize performance while simplifying maintenance.

Tipping the scales at just 17.9kg, this E Mountain Bike redefines what's possible in terms of lightweight electric trail bikes.

TQ 360Wh Battery

The TQ HPR 360Wh e-bike battery is a game-changer for eMTBs, providing a substantial capacity in a lightweight, integrated package. It charges fully in just 2-3 hours and uses an LED charge display for easy monitoring.

TQ HPR50 Motor

The TQ HPR50 Motor is stands out in the e-bike world for its compact size, lightweight design (only 1,850g), and quiet operation, setting a new standard for eMTB systems. It uses harmonic pin ring transmission technology to provide a balanced 50Nm of torque, ensuring a natural ride feel without overwhelming power.

Perhaps one of the best qualities of the TQ HPR50 motor and battery is its ability to blend seamlessly into the bike's frame, giving an aesthetic that is almost completely indistiguishable from a standard bike. The Intube battery, specifically designed for the TQ HPR50 drive system, still boasts a capacity of 360Wh, making it ideal for extended trail rides or weekend tours, providing an extra boost when needed, but not hindering your pedalling when it isn't required. Its integration into the bike's frame not only contributes to a sleek appearance but also optimizes weight distribution, thus maintaining the natural handling characteristics of the bike.

A key feature of the battery is its efficiency and the quick recharge capability. It also offers a user-friendly removal process; by simply unplugging and removing two bolts, the battery can be easily taken out for charging or storage. Moreover, the LED charge display provides a clear indication of the battery's charge level at a glance, ensuring riders are always informed of their remaining range.

The TQ HPR50 drive system is a highly appealing option for eMTB riders looking for a natural riding experience with enough power for challenging climbs and long rides. The system's overall design emphasizes a minimal Q-factor, allowing for a riding position and pedal stroke that closely mimic those of a non-electric bike, enhancing comfort and performance on the trail.

Range Extender And Water Bottles

The Scott Voltage features an innovative solution for riders looking to enhance their e-bike's range without sacrificing the convenience of carrying a water bottle. This is achieved through a specialized mounting plate on the seat tube, designed for dual functionality. It supports a quick-release adapter that accommodates either a 160Wh TQ Range Extender for extended battery life or an additional bottle cage for hydration. This plate includes a dedicated channel for the Voltage Range Extender cable, ensuring a neat setup.

Unique to the Voltage is its ability to accommodate both the range extender and a water bottle simultaneously, thanks to its integrated shock system providing sufficient space. An optional sliding mount facilitates easy swapping between the water bottle and the range extender, ensuring riders can carry both essentials for longer excursions. The charging system is designed for convenience, allowing the bike to be charged with the range extender attached and prioritizing the main battery to ensure readiness for riding. The main battery itself boasts a rapid recharge rate, reaching 80% capacity in just two hours.

E-Bike Mode Control

Control over your eMTB comes seamlessly with the Voltage range through a minimalist remote located on the handlebar, linked to an integrated display on the top tube. This setup provides effortless switching between riding modes on the fly, and can also be used to operate walk mode. The positioning on the handlebar is strategically ergonomic, ensuring adjustments can be made easily and intuitively, even when mid-trail.

Enhancing the E-Mountain Bike experience, the TQ E-Bike app offers unparalleled customization of your ride. It allows for the fine-tuning of the drive unit to either conserve battery or boost power output according to your riding needs. Pedal response adjustments are also at your fingertips, enabling you to modify motor engagement for quicker response or a more gradual, natural ride feel. This integration promises a riding experience where simplicity meets innovation, allowing you to immerse fully in the pleasure of eMTB riding.

Integrated Suspension

The new Scott Voltage eRide incorporates their proprietary Integrated Suspension Technology, significantly enhancing the bike's suspension dynamics. This innovative approach lowers the center of gravity, translating into superior handling and a stable, reassuring ride. The bike's frame benefits from increased stiffness around the bottom bracket area, curtailing side-to-side movement and optimizing the shock's linear path. Moreover, this design shields the shock from debris and weather—critical factors for maintaining peak performance. Aesthetically, these technical features synergize to craft not only a high-performing bike but also one with striking looks.

Adjusting sag and monitoring travel usage on the Voltage is straightforward, thanks to an external indicator on the link, simplifying the process for riders to achieve the perfect setup and effectively utilize the bike's full travel capacity. Similar technological philosophies can be found in the Scott Lumen, showcasing the brand's commitment to innovative suspension solutions across its range.
