• Racers in the tours would have their BROOKS Saddles conditioned and riveted with larger ones to make them last longer.

Coppers rivets in fact are gentler to the leather top, so a few decades ago this practice was adopted in the manufacturing at BROOKS

This is how the SPECIAL range was born. Each of the 9 copper rivets on the SPECIAL Saddles is hand hammered with great care by skillful craftsmen.
Swift is one of the first "modern" gent's racing Brooks saddles. It was traditionally available only with titanium rails, but since 2008 it has also been manufactured with a chromium plated steel metalwork. Both versions feature skived sides and hand hammered copper rivets.

Over almost a century and a half, Brooks England has grown from a small workshop to a byword in quality craftsmanship involved in the design, manufacture and distrobution of some of the finest Brooks Sadals cycling accessories. On 28 October 1882, Mr Brooks filed his first saddle patent. Waddling cyclists everywhere threw their hats in the air and the new product was a roaring success. Brooks Sadals became known and respected for their beautiful leather handcrafted saddles, and soon started to make cycle and motorcycle bags and other Brooks Sadals cycling accessories.
