At Westbrook Cycles, we have always understood that some mountain biking components are much more exciting than others, we also understand that mountain bike components and bike manufacturers are always looking for new innovative products which have been designed to provide maximum comfort and performance, on every ride.

As part of this drive for mountain bike perfection, dropper seatposts are available. As the name suggests, these seatposts can be dropped or raised at the push of a button - so there’s no more manual adjustment when you want to go either up or down. These dropper seatposts are popular with both racers and recreational mountain bikers alike - with the massive benefit of being able to find maximum cycling comfort - whatever the terrain.

An example of the dropper seat in use, is being able to lower the bike seat when heading down a long descent, be that trails or rough ground - giving you the confidence to put your weight behind the saddle and fly down the trails and tracks with excellent contact with your pedals. There is also an added safety advantage to these posts allowing you to safely scale obstacles more easily - lowering the seat so you can put your feet down if required - really important stuff when riding trail bikes.

As these dropper seats become the norm in mountain biking circles, you can bet that these seatposts will continue to improve, and continue to push the boundaries of what is possible. Many customers choose to purchase a new saddle, alongside their dropper seatpost.

You can view our full range of dropper seats here, and as always - please do just get in touch if you have any questions at all about the collection.
