A disc brake adapter is a piece of metal, which holds two bolts which allows different size disc brake rotors to be fitted to your bike. In laymans terms, the disc brake adapter acts as a spacer - the bigger the adapter, the bigger the rotor you can fit to the bike. These adapters allow you to use international standard, post mount and flat mount brake options.
